TO THE COMMUNITY LEADERS OF MICHIGAN - THE GREAT BEER STATE,
The Michigan Brewers Guild is celebrating twenty-five years of promoting and protecting Michigan’s brewing industry. In October of 1997 thirty or so brewing professionals met to discuss what it could look like if instead of competing against each other, they chose to work to-gether to create a rich brewing community that celebrated camaraderie as a key ingredient in great beer. Soon after, the Michigan Brewers Guild was formed. Now, almost twenty-five years later, we are immensely proud and grateful to have witnessed the remarkable growth and excitement created by our breweries of the Great Beer State. As a member-based trade association, we represent around three-hundred breweries across the state, and we’re thrilled to celebrate our twenty fifth anniversary.
Perhaps one of the most rewarding aspects of this dynamic history over the last few decades, has been witnessing how breweries and their patrons have woven a rich fabric of connection into many communities around the state. We’ve heard countless stories of community engagement, revitalization and economic success from towns, cities, and counties big and small.
As part of our 25th Anniversary, we’d like to hear your story. We’d also like to share your story with the people who work in our breweries and the customers who love them. How has a brewery or breweries contributed to your town? What is your before and after story with having a local brewery and what do you love the most? What do you look forward to?
Whether you share in the form of a video, a short story, or an audio clip, we’d like to include your thoughts in our anniversary efforts, and here’s how:
Create and upload one of the following:
- A video, sixty seconds or less (.mov, .mp4)
- A written story (.doc or .pdf)
- A photo (.jpg, .png, .pdf, .tiff)
- An audio file (.mp3, .wav)
And share some or all of the following:
- Your name, title, and affiliation (company, city, etc.)
- When did your world intersect with Michigan breweries?
- How have a brewery or breweries contributed positively to your community?
- What do you wish for most in your continued collaboration with your breweries?
Raise a glass and wish the people and the breweries of the Michigan Brewers Guild a happy twenty-fifth anniversary!
Just like in brewing, feel free to have fun and be creative. Whether it’s straightforward and heartfelt like a crisp pilsner, or adventurous and complex like a fruited sour aged in bourbon barrels, we’re sure our members and their fans will love to hear your story.
Production Tips:
While professional videographers are always welcome, it is not a necessity. We love the candid and personal captures, which can be done on a good phone. Consider finding a well-lit, relatively quiet area and shoot in “landscape” mode with your camera or phone horizontal. Props for a content-rich location like your office, your favorite brewery, the steps of city hall, or the site designated for your town’s next brewery and speak from the heart.
With all photo and video files, send the highest resolution possible, up to 1080 p.
We’ll be accepting files throughout 2022, but we encourage you to submit your story by April 1st, 2022.
